Week Seven League Recap

2023-03-30

Goaltending the story this week, as all teams were in action on Monday.

As we hit the halfway mark of the season, games have been getting closer and more competitive, and this Monday night was no exception. Goaltenders all stood tall, seeing lots of shots for the first time this season.

The Honey Badgers ran away with the score in the first game of the night, securing the victory over the hard-battling Red Raiders. Badgers forwards Owen Laflamme and Matt Jubinville dominated the scoresheet in this one, putting them 1st and 2nd at the top of league scoring. In a losing effort, Adam Kelly, Brad Elphick and Nadine Leonard all put up strong multi-point outings.

The second game saw College Heights Pizza hold off a close one from the AK Steel Detailing Knighthawks. A back-and-forth effort between both teams was sealed off by an empty-net goal. Great goaltending controlled the score in this game, with CHP goaltender Derrick Pollon's allowing just 2 goals on 15 shots, and Jeremy Walsh of the Knighthawks surrendering just 3 on 22.

Derrick Pollon currently leads all goalies with a 2.57 GAA through 7 starts.
